# Message on Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a planned messaging channel for bringing employees into Teams conversations, the Microsoft 365 equivalent of the Slack channel. It is not built yet.

## TL;DR

Microsoft Teams chat is planned for Teams channels and direct messages. It is not available yet. Use the supported web, Slack, Telegram, or mailbox channels today.

## How It Works

The planned connection will route an approved Teams message to one employee and return the response to the same conversation. Organization-level access controls will apply before work runs.

## What It Can Do

Nothing yet, the channel has not shipped. Once live it is expected to cover:

- Answering direct messages sent to the employee in Teams.
- Replying in a Teams channel when the employee is mentioned.

## How to Set It Up

Setup is not available yet. After launch, open **Settings > Technical > Channels**, select **Microsoft Teams**, and use **Manage** to authorize and map the employee.

## Tips & Tricks

Use a dedicated test channel first. Review organization guardrails and approval rules before opening a connection to a broad Teams workspace.

## Good to Know

The card shows **Coming soon** while no Teams connection can receive traffic. This channel covers Teams chat only, messages in channels and direct messages. Joining a Teams meeting as a participant is a separate, also planned, Meeting channel.

**Q: Can I connect Teams now?**  
A: No. The integration is planned and not built yet.

**Q: Is this the same as the Meeting channel?**  
A: No. Teams chat and the Meeting channel are separate. Teams chat covers channel and direct messages; the Meeting channel covers joining a live Teams, Zoom, or Meet call as a participant.

**Q: Where will I manage it?**  
A: In the Microsoft Teams drawer under Settings > Technical > Channels.
