About Zoom AI Companion

Zoom AI Companion is the AI assistant bundled with Zoom Workplace. It joins meetings to summarize them, pull out action items, generate next-step drafts, search across past meetings, and compose chat and email replies in Zoom Mail. In late 2024 Zoom announced AI Companion 2.0 with broader agent capabilities (scheduling, document drafting, post-meeting tasks), and through 2025 they have shipped a custom AI Studio for building organization-specific skills. AI Companion is generous in pricing terms: it is included in most paid Zoom Workplace plans at no extra cost, which is unusual in the meeting-AI space where competitors like Otter or Fireflies charge separately. The trade-off is scope. AI Companion is excellent inside the Zoom surface (meetings, chat, phone, mail) and limited outside of it. AI Companion is the AI assistant bundled with Zoom Workplace. In meetings it generates real-time summaries, extracts action items, drafts follow-ups, and lets late-joiners catch up by asking what has been discussed. It works across Zoom's surface: Meetings, Team Chat, Phone, Mail, and Whiteboard. In Team Chat it composes replies, summarizes long threads, and suggests next steps. In Mail and Calendar it drafts emails and proposes meeting times. In Phone it transcribes calls, summarizes voicemails, and surfaces highlights. The product also offers cross-meeting search so you can ask questions like what was decided about pricing last quarter and pull answers from past Zoom meetings. AI Companion 2.0, announced in late 2024 and rolling out through 2025, adds more agentic behaviors: scheduling assistance, document drafting, and the AI Studio for building organization-specific skills. The pitch is moving from passive assistance (summaries) to proactive task help (drafts, schedules, follow-ups) inside Zoom's surface. Sistava sits at a different layer. Pro starts at 13.32 USD per user per month, Business at 18.32 USD per user per month, Business Plus at around 22.49 USD per user per month. Enterprise pricing is custom. This bundling is unusually generous in the meeting-AI category, where competitors like Otter and Fireflies charge separately on top of your meeting software. The full AI Companion 2.0 feature set, including AI Studio for custom skills and more advanced agent capabilities, requires Business Plus or higher in most cases. For a small team already on Zoom Business, this is essentially free AI. For a team not on Zoom, the cost is the Zoom seat itself. Sistava's pricing is flat per workspace, not per Zoom seat. A founder with a team of one paying for one Zoom Pro seat gets AI Companion for 13 USD per month. A founder running seven AI employees on Sistava pays one Personal plan regardless of headcount.
