PolyAI

Enterprise voice AI platform for handling live phone conversations at scale

About PolyAI

PolyAI builds an Agentic Dialog Platform for enterprise voice: AI agents that answer real phone calls for reservations, account questions, and routine transactions, powered by its own Raven speech model trained on over a billion enterprise conversations. It sells into large regulated industries, healthcare, financial services, hotels, retail, with SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and PCI DSS compliance built in. Sistava's voice capability is different and earlier stage today: a listen-only Meeting Attender that joins calls and takes notes, with two-way voice and phone channels still on our roadmap. If live phone answering at volume is the job, PolyAI is built for exactly that.

What does PolyAI actually do?

PolyAI answers real phone calls for large enterprises: a customer calling a hotel to book a room, a bank customer checking a balance, a retailer's seasonal order line, handled end to end by a voice agent built on PolyAI's own Raven speech model. The platform includes a no-code Agent Studio and a developer toolkit, with enterprise compliance (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS) built in for regulated buyers. That is a live, production voice capability Sistava does not offer yet. Sistava's voice-adjacent feature today is a Meeting Attender that joins a Zoom, Meet, or Teams call as a silent participant and takes notes, not a two-way phone agent. Two-way voice and phone channels are on our roadmap. If answering the phone at scale is the actual job, PolyAI is the tool built for it today.

Which one fits your situation?

If your customers reach you by phone and the volume is high enough that answering it is a staffing decision, this is not a close comparison. PolyAI is purpose-built for live phone conversations in regulated industries, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Sistava fits when the phone is not the channel that matters. Work that arrives by email, chat, a form or a task board, and that needs someone to own it end to end across sales, marketing, support and operations, is what an AI employee is shaped for. A useful check is where the queue forms. If it is a call queue, you need voice infrastructure. If it is an inbox, a pipeline or a backlog nobody has time for, you need someone working it.

What to know if you are evaluating both

These are usually bought by different people at different company sizes. PolyAI sells into large regulated organisations through a sales process, with compliance and call volume as the deciding factors. Sistava is self-serve and aimed at small teams, so the evaluation is closer to trying it than to running a procurement cycle. They also do not exclude each other. A company can run voice infrastructure on the phone line and still have AI employees handling the work that never comes through a call at all.
