What does Taskade actually do?

Taskade started as a collaborative outliner and task tool, then layered AI on top of that structure. Today the headline is Genesis: you describe an app, and Taskade generates a working thing with a database behind it, AI agents attached and automations wired, rather than a static mockup you then have to build. The agent model is workspace-native. You create agents with custom tools and knowledge, put several in a team so a researcher hands to a writer who hands to a reviewer, and publish an agent to a public page or embed it. Everything lives inside the Taskade project you are looking at. Sistava works from the other end. You hire an employee for a role, it holds memory across every conversation and task, it owns a schedule, and it reports what it did. The workspace is where you check on the work rather than where the work has to happen.

How much does Taskade cost?

Taskade is one of the cheaper entry points in this category. The free tier is genuinely usable: AI agents, up to three basic automations, some integrations and a limited AI credit pool. Pro is $10 per month billed annually and lifts the caps to unlimited agents, unlimited automations, 100+ integrations and 50,000 AI credits a month. The credit pool is the thing to watch. Agents consume credits per run, so heavy autonomous use burns through an allowance faster than interactive use. That is fine when a human is in the loop directing work, and it gets expensive when you want work happening while you sleep. Sistava prices around continuous autonomous execution rather than assisted editing, which is why the shapes differ. If your usage is bursts of human-directed work, Taskade is very hard to beat on price.

When does Taskade beat the alternatives?

Taskade wins when the job is building internal tooling fast. A founder who needs a client tracker, a content pipeline and a small ops dashboard by Friday will get further with Genesis than with almost anything else at this price, because the database, the UI and the agents arrive together. It also wins for teams already living in a doc-and-outline workflow. The AI is right where the work already is, which removes the tool-switching tax that kills a lot of agent adoption. Where it thins out is unattended execution. Agents are strongest when you are present and driving. Once the requirement becomes work that happens overnight, chases its own follow-ups and files a report, you want an employment model rather than a workspace model.
