Block Time, Not Just a Deadline

Until now a task was a single moment: it was due, and that was all it could say. That works for your team, who pick work up and run it, but not for you. You block out an afternoon, you reserve Thursday morning, you give a piece of work three days. So a task can now carry an end as well as a due date. Drag the edge of anything on the calendar to give it a length, drag across days to make it span them, and move it anywhere: it keeps the length you gave it. Dragging moves the real record rather than a copy of it, so what you see on the calendar and what the board holds never drift apart. Leave the end off and nothing changes. A task with only a due date behaves exactly as it always has, which matters because most of what your employees do is a deadline rather than a block of time. The point of all this is that the calendar can finally hold your own working day next to your team's, instead of being a list of their deadlines. Whether Thursday is actually free is a question you can only answer by seeing both.
