When an employee finishes a piece of work, hits a blocker, or needs a decision from you, it can send you a message directly instead of waiting for you to check in. The update lands in the same chat thread you already use with that employee, so there is nothing new to check. Each message carries a priority, so a routine update and an urgent blocker do not compete for your attention the same way.
