Manage Notifications
Notifications tell you when something in your workspace needs attention, so you do not have to watch every Employee constantly.
TL;DR
The platform notifies you in-app and by email when Employees finish work, credits run low, or someone needs a decision from you. Credit alerts are fixed and cannot be turned off, while everything else is a flat list of email categories you switch on or off. Find it all under the bell icon and Settings > Notifications.
How It Works
Two channels are live today: in-app (the bell) and email. Every event that matters gets a bell notification first; some of those events also send an email, either right away or after a short delay if you have not read the bell yet.
The in-app bell cannot be switched off. Email is where your control lives: instead of toggling each event type one by one, you manage a short list of email categories (see below), and two of them (account and billing mail) are locked on because they carry security or money information you need to see.
Slack is also live: connect it and it becomes your primary channel for proactive notifications. Push, mobile, and webhook delivery, plus email digests, quiet hours, and custom credit thresholds, are not available yet.
What You Get Notified About
| Event | What fires it |
|---|---|
| Employee update | An Employee finishes work or reaches out proactively |
| Task completed / assigned | A task is marked done, or one becomes your responsibility |
| Credit alerts | Your balance crosses 25%, 15%, or 0% remaining |
| Comment reply / mention | Someone replies to or mentions you in a comment thread |
| Input requested | An Employee is waiting on your approval or a choice |
| Billing events | A payment succeeds or fails, a plan changes, a trial is ending |
| Human message | A teammate messages you directly in the workspace |
Where to Find It
- Bell icon, top-right of your workspace. A red badge shows your unread count (capped at 99+). Click it to see your recent notifications.
- Gear icon > Notifications opens two settings pages:
- Preferences: the email categories you can turn on or off
- Alerts: the credit-alert ladder (read-only, thresholds are fixed)
What You Can Do
- Open a notification's drawer for the full detail, and step through your list with the prev/next arrows without closing it.
- Reply from certain notifications (like an Employee update) straight into that Employee's chat, or reply on a comment thread directly from the drawer, so your response reaches the Employee with full context.
- Turn email categories on or off individually. Locked categories show a padlock and a tooltip explaining why they cannot be disabled.
Credit Alerts
| Remaining | What happens |
|---|---|
| 25% | Bell only. No email at this level. |
| 15% | Bell and email. |
| 0% | Bell and email. Work pauses until you top up or your next billing cycle. |
Each level fires once, not on a repeating schedule: you get the 25% alert once, then nothing more at that level until either it escalates to 15%/0% or your balance is refilled, which resets the ladder. The thresholds are fixed and cannot be edited yet.
Tips and Tricks
- Leave credit alerts alone. They are locked for a reason: missing one means your Employees stop working with no warning.
- Keep "Account & security" and "Billing & credits" on. These two email categories are locked because they carry information you need regardless of your other preferences.
- Use the reply-from-drawer shortcut. For Employee updates and comment threads, replying from the notification drawer is faster than navigating to the chat or the artifact yourself.
Good to Know
- The bell cannot be turned off entirely. Email is the only channel you control.
- Notifications do not cost credits.
- Slack delivery is live once you connect Slack. Push notifications (browser, desktop, mobile), webhooks, email digests, quiet hours, and custom credit thresholds are planned but not built yet.
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do notifications cost credits? A: No. Notifications are a platform feature and never consume credits.
