The Marketplace is where you browse and hire AI employees. Search or filter for the right role, click "Hire," and start working.
TL;DR
Open the Marketplace from the workspace. It shows one grid: your two personal assistants first, then a department specialist for every team (Marketing, Sales, Support, HR, Operations), then Sistava's built-in mentor, then a Custom AI Talent card for building your own role. Click any card's photo to preview its full profile, or click "Hire" to add it straight to your workforce. Everything is customizable after hiring.
How the Marketplace Is Organized
The Marketplace is a single grid, not separate team and individual sections. Cards appear in this order:
- Personal assistants (Alice and Bob). Standalone, no department.
- Department specialists. One expert per team (Marketing, Sales, Support, HR, Operations), woven together so the grid reads as one continuous roster rather than grouped blocks.
- Sistava Mentor. A staff card, not a hire. It opens a page explaining what the mentor does instead of a Hire button.
- Custom AI Talent. Always last. Hiring it works exactly like hiring any other card, then you build out its skills, duties, tools, and persona from its own dashboard afterward.
Each card shows:
- Employee name and role
- A department badge with skill count (for example, "6 Sales skills")
- Connected tool icons, top left
- A "Hire" button
There is no separate "Interview" button. Click anywhere on a card's photo to open its full profile: skills, duties, tools, and persona, before you decide to hire.
Search and filters. A search bar at the top matches name, role, tagline, and tools across every card. A "Filters" button opens Department, Level, and Tools checkboxes; active filters show as removable pills below the header.

Tips and Tricks
- Preview first. Click a card's photo to see an employee's full skills, duties, tools, and persona before hiring.
- Customize after hiring. The marketplace gives you a starting point. Add or remove skills, change tools, and adjust the persona afterward.
- Use filters. If you know the department, level, or tools you need, use the Filters panel to narrow down quickly.
- No exact match? Build one. If none of the pre-built roles fit, hire the "Custom AI Talent" card and configure it from scratch.
Good to Know
- Hiring is free. No credits are consumed when you hire. Credits are only used when employees do work. Check your subscription plan for employee limits.
- One active hire per named role. You can only have one active employee for a given marketplace template at a time. To hire that role again, terminate the existing one first. This limit does not apply to Custom AI Talent, which you can hire as many times as you want.
- Bench. New individual hires land in the Bench team (unassigned). Move them to a specific team from the team's Members tab.
- Custom AI Talent starts blank. It comes with basic research skills only. You configure its skills, duties, tools, and persona from its dashboard to give it a real job.
- Not the same as the B2B Marketplace. The "B2B Marketplace" link near the top of the page opens a separate public directory of real customer businesses. It has nothing to do with hiring AI employees.

Q: Does hiring cost credits? A: No. Hiring is free. Credits are consumed only when employees process your requests. Check your subscription plan for employee limits.
Q: Can I try an employee before hiring? A: Click anywhere on a card's photo to preview its full profile, including skills, duties, tools, and persona, before you commit.
Q: What if I need a role that does not exist in the marketplace? A: Hire the "Custom AI Talent" card and build the role from scratch, or hire the closest match and customize its skills, duties, and tools afterward.
Q: Can I hire the same role twice? A: Not for a named marketplace template. Only one active employee per template is allowed per workspace; terminate the existing one before hiring it again. Custom AI Talent has no such limit, so you can hire it as many times as you need.
Q: Where does a new hire appear after I click "Hire"? A: You land directly in the new employee's chat. Individual hires appear under the Bench team in the sidebar until you move them into a specific team.
