What is Kore.ai?

Kore.ai sells the infrastructure for running AI agents in production inside a large company. The agent platform is the programmable layer where agents are built, tested, orchestrated and monitored, and everything above it is packaging for a specific department. AI for Service is the customer-facing half: contact center agents, quality assurance across conversations, and proactive outreach. AI for Work is the employee-facing half: HR, IT, recruiting, finance and legal assistance plus enterprise search across internal systems. On top of both sit prebuilt applications for banking, healthcare, retail and IT. The customer list explains the design. Global banks, pharmaceutical companies and large retailers do not want a finished opinionated product; they want a governed platform their own teams can shape, with the audit and access controls a regulator will ask about.

Build a platform or hire a worker

On Kore.ai someone designs the agent: the flows, the tools, the guardrails, the handoffs. That is a strength when you have the people for it, because you get exactly the behavior your compliance team signed off on. On Sistava the employee arrives with a role already defined. You give it context, connect your tools, set a schedule, and correct it in chat when it gets something wrong. There is no build phase, and no integrator, which is the only workable model when the person buying is also the person running the company. The tradeoff is real in both directions. A platform gives control at the cost of time and expertise. A hire gives speed at the cost of some control, which is why approvals and a readable work journal matter more on our side than on theirs.

Who should not buy Kore.ai

A small team without engineering capacity should not. The value of a governed agent platform is proportional to how much you need to govern, and a five-person company mostly needs the work done. Anyone who needs to see a price before a call will also find the process slow. Enterprise procurement is a deliberate choice by a vendor selling to enterprises, not an oversight, but it does rule out buyers who want to try before they commit. If you are that buyer, the fair comparison is not Kore.ai against Sistava on capability. It is whether you need a platform at all this year, or whether one support employee plus a marketer would move you further.
