Tidio
Live chat and AI support agent for small businesses and online stores
About Tidio
Tidio began as a live-chat widget for small websites and grew an AI agent called Lyro, which runs on Claude, claims around 67% resolution and takes native Shopify actions such as order lookups and refunds. It is priced for small teams with a genuine free plan, and has raised $26.8M since 2013 out of Poland. Sistava overlaps only on the support role: our support employee is one hire among a workforce that also sells, markets and runs operations.

What is Lyro?
Lyro is Tidio AI support agent. It runs on Claude, grounds itself in your knowledge base and store data, and claims to resolve around 67% of conversations without a human. On Shopify it takes real actions: order lookups, refunds, address changes. That resolution number is credible for the segment. Small-store support is highly repetitive, mostly shipping status and returns, which is exactly the shape of problem an AI agent handles well. The pricing ladder is small-business friendly at the bottom and jumps sharply. Free, then $24.17 and $49.17, then Plus from $749 a month. That gap between $49 and $749 is where a lot of growing stores get stuck.
Tidio versus Gorgias
They are often shortlisted together and they are not the same product. Tidio starts at the chat widget on the storefront and grew inward. Gorgias starts at the helpdesk and the order record and grew outward. For a small store where most support arrives through the website chat, Tidio is cheaper and faster to get running, with a free plan to prove it. For a brand with real volume across email, chat, social and returns, Gorgias handles the operational side properly and Tidio starts to feel thin. The Plus tier at $749 is roughly where that decision usually gets made.
Where a workforce is a different purchase
Tidio answers customers who come to you. That is genuinely valuable and, for a small store, might be the only support automation needed. It does not go and do anything. It will not chase the abandoned cart with a personal note, write next month content, reconcile the books or research a supplier. Those are jobs, not conversations. If the honest description of your situation is nobody is doing most of the work, a chat widget solves a slice of it. A workforce is aimed at the rest.
